One Direction T-shirt typo causes a stir

OOPS: The official One Direction t-shirt shows a typo - "21th" - next to the word "Auckland".

One Direction or Oneth Direction?

Fans of the boy band who'd been brushing up on their English homework may have noticed a typo on one piece of tour merchandise for sale at their Auckland and Wellington shows.

According to the dates listed on the Up All Night T-shirt, the boys were in Auckland on the "21th" of April.

The T-shirt was available from their Australian and New Zealand shows and the spelling mistake has been doing the rounds on Twitter.

Some users quipped it was the date "with a lisp" while others laughed off the spelling mistake.

The UK group - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson - arrived in Auckland last Thursday and spent the next four days sending local hearts a-flutter.

The One Direction lads made the most of their time in the City of Sails, checking out Britomart bar 1885, watching the Kiwis lose to the Kangaroos in the ANZAC test match at Eden Park, jumping off the Sky Tower and getting inked at a Karangahape Rd tattoo parlour.

One member of the band, Harry Styles, secretly hooked up with an Auckland-based model - twice - while in town.

They launched to super stardom on the UK version of X Factor.

One Direction played two shows in Auckland before flying to Wellington for a final New Zealand show on Sunday.

Tickets for the band's three shows sold out in record time - 10,000 tickets in under 10 minutes.

But if you missed out, there's always next year - the band returns to New Zealand in 2013.
