Oh look, it's another vaguely 'adult' comedy from producer Judd Apatow (The Forty-Year Old Virgin), teaming up again with director Nicolas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and following exactly all of the beats and rhythms that have made the Apatow name box office gold over the last few years.
There's the couple who are destined to be together, and then there's the support cast who will conspire to create disasters to keep them apart.
And so Jason Segel's likeable schlub chef, and Emily Blunt's smart and gorgeous psychology graduate must move from sunny San Francisco to snow-bound Michigan, so that the mettle of their love can be tested, found wanting, and then repaired.
The gags are funny enough, the casting is as unashamedly bigoted as ever, and the whole thing is nearly redeemed by a final 10 minutes that throw away any pretence of reality, and just bask in sheer fairy tale land.
Next year, no doubt, there'll be another one along.
