« Previous« PreviousNext »Next » The final film has been shown and the prizes handed out at the 65th International Cannes Film Festival, which - if you discount the actual films - is really just a giant excuse for the beautiful and the damned of the celeb world to parade about on the red carpet in a succession of glorious (and occasionally gruesome) gowns.
Model-turned-actress Diane Kruger. who was one of the festival's jurors, led the way with a seemingly endless parade of looks. Kruger's first photocall was in a micro mini lace-up dress, but her outfits got progressively more demure as the days passed. Her dress for the closing event was a vast Christian Dior couture affair with a skirt so big you half expected a crowd of small children to be hidden beneath its folds.
Kylie Minogue's film effort, Holy Motors, was widely panned but she redeemed herself on the fashion front by channelling old-school Hollywood glamour with a gorgeous flowing gown at the closing ceremony.
