NOT TOO COLD IN NZ: Musician Ed Sheeran will perform one show only in Auckland in July.
He's the singer who had fellow red-head and the guy who played Ron in Harry Potter in his music video, but it is Ed Sheeran himself who will play one New Zealand show in July.
The Englishman will perform one show at Auckland's ASB Theatre on July 29 ahead of an Australian tour.
Sheeran has combined acoustic music, folk and hip hop beats in songs like Lego House and The A Team to become a household name in the UK thanks to his hit album simply entitled +.
The 21-year-old dropped out of school at the age of 16, but since then he has been gigging solidly - in 2009 he performed 312 shows throughout the UK and Ireland.
Early in his career, Sheeran caught the eye of actor/singer/producer Jamie Foxx and was invited to perform in LA. He later secured a deal with Elton John's management company.
While he wrote his first EP at the age of 14, Sheeran's debut studio album was only released last year. And this week the single The A Team was nominated for Best Song Musically and Lyrically at the prestigious Ivor Novello songwriting awards, alongside Adele and Florence + The Machine.
